All Saints’ and St Stephen’s rely on a huge number of
volunteers as well as a small team of paid staff to minister to the
community. Together they have a heart to serve friends and neighbours, demonstrating
God’s love and the open door policy of the church.
Whatever our age or experience, every church member can
contribute to the well being of the Christian family and assist in our
activities.
The Vicar – The Reverend Tim Sumpter
Tim served his curacy in Ockbrook and after a short time in Surrey, returned in 2001 as vicar. A former
soldier, he has a passion for evangelism, keep fit and curry. Note that Tim is on sabbatical leave
until December 2010
The
Curate – The Reverend Val Billings
Having worshipped here with her family for many years, Val
was surprised to discover God calling her to ordained ministry in the
Church of England. She now enjoys
serving the people of this parish in a new way, having been asked by the
Bishop’s staff to consider undertaking her first curacy here.
Associate
Priest – The Reverend Jeffrey Fewkes
Following work with the Mission to Seafarers in Japan, where
he met his wife Noriko, Jeffrey was ordained in 1975 and has led a number
of churches throughout the UK. He
is also a fundraising officer for Victim Support in Notts.
Youth Worker – Mark Weightman
Mark is interested in reading, keeping fit and all things
German. He speaks “Deutsch”
fluently and travels abroad as much as his purse strings permit! He has a passion for working with
children and young people.
