Sunday 8am All Saints
1662 Book of Common Prayer Holy Communion
A traditional spoken service which offers time and space for individual worship and reflection. There is no sermon at this service.

“I find it very moving to attend this service every week and know that these words have been used here for hundreds of years.  It's a very warm and peaceful atmosphere and the dazzling effect of the sun rising behind the stained glass East window only happens at this early service.”

Geoff Peel

Sunday 9.15am St Stephen’s
Common Worship Sung Eucharist
This service is available every week (aside from the first Sunday in the month when it is All Age Worship) and includes a robed choir and hymns led by the organ. A small all age Sunday School is also available. The clergy wear robes and there is a sermon.

“The 9.15 service is a Heineken service because it reaches parts that, during a busy working week, nothing else can. A time to reflect, worship, listen and pray - a perfect way to start the week.”

Barrie Read

Sunday 11am All Saints
All Age Worship, Holy Communion and Morning Worship
This is a more informal service with approximately  one third of the congregation made up of children and young people. A Sunday School operates weekly, aside from when All Age Worship on the first Sunday in the month. The service is displayed on a screen and the worship led by the Music Group. The atmosphere is more informal and there is a weekly sermon/talk.

”We make sure that we can come to the All Age services each month.  You can expect a lively, friendly atmosphere with great music, time to reflect and clear, dynamic teaching.  Children are made very welcome.”
The Bowden Family

Sunday Night Menu
We offer a variety of styles of service to suit all tastes on a Sunday evening at 6.30pm. Ranging from traditional to quiet and reflective, they offer a time of stillness outside the friendly bustle of the morning services, to be with God.

1st Sunday in the month
Sung Holy Communion at All Saints’, Ockbrook
A traditional service with robed choir and hymns led by the organ. There is a short talk and an opportunity to receive Holy Communion.

“Although I enjoy the lively 11am services, where we worship with the younger members of our church family, I really appreciate the evening Holy Communion service. This service gives me the opportunity to be still before God, and gives me time and space to reflect – it can provide an oasis of peace, in what can be quite a busy life.”

Janet Pinchbeck

3rd Sunday
Compline or Traditional Choral Evensong at St Stephen’s, Borrowash
Compline is an ancient service of night prayer with profound, yet straightforward language and an opportunity for calm reflection. There is usually no sung music at this service.

Our BCP Evensong service is led by the choir and includes traditional sung prayers and psalms. There is Bible reading and reflection, sometimes with a discussion.

“This service provides a perfect end to a busy week and a calm atmosphere before the week to come. A quiet time for prayer, thanksgiving and fellowship.” Hillary Seeley

Wednesday 10am St Stephen’s, Borrowash
Holy Communion
This friendly morning service is popular with both retired people and homemakers, since the gentle rhythm of the spoken liturgy and the close surroundings of the choir stalls make for a welcoming family atmosphere. The social time after the service is almost as popular as the service itself!

“As I walk into St Stephen’s on Wednesday morning, the lovely vibrant colours of this beautiful little church creates in me a sense of peace and renewal which grow as I become surrounded by so many warm greetings.” Jean Ogden
