Church Family Away Day
Saturday
19th May 2007 St John’s College Nottingham
More than 100 people from our churches enjoyed our Church Family Away Day
in May at St John’s theological college in Beeston,
just outside Nottingham.
With separate activities for our children and young people, the adults
enjoyed getting together in discussion groups to consider how we might
work together for God in the future. There was plenty of active and vocal
feedback and some of our reflection times also produced some very
interesting ideas.
The next away day is planned for 2009.

Good Friday March 2008
As a
symbol of our faith within the local community we walk from the centre of
Borrowash on Good Friday morning, along
Victoria Avenue and over into Ockbrook,
finishing at the Moravian Church on the Settlement. With a police escort for safety, we
walk in silence, with a cross carried at the head of the procession. With traffic slowed, many people leave
their homes to watch as we remember the day that Jesus died on our behalf. All those who participate – young
and old alike – find it a moving experience.
