Being a Christian is a personal decision which can only be
made if we fully understand what it is we are saying yes (or no) to.
Mission is the word we use to describe the sharing of our experience of
God and his love. We hope never to be cringe-making, ‘worthy’
Christians that you would avoid at all costs, but rather ordinary people whose lives have been changed by an
extraordinary God, and who want to tell you about it.
If you want to know more about what it means to know and love God then
you could join us on an Alpha course or for a drink in the Swan when you
can quiz the vicar with difficult questions during ‘Pints of
View’. Whatever your beliefs we hope that you will be interested
and informed by these opportunities to share.
Alpha is a 10 week course, meeting on a weeknight to share a meal, hear a
short talk and have a chat. It is a non-threatening place to ask all the
questions you’ve always wanted an answer to. The food is usually
pretty good too.
Pints of View happen once every six months or so at The White Swan in
Ockbrook. Please contact us to find out the next date. Alternatively why
not book him to come down to your local?

“Our customers and our family always look forward to
Tim Sumpter’s bi-annual ‘Pints of
View’ forum. Tim never
ducks any issue (no matter how controversial!!) and along with sound,
serious advice and opinion, always injects an element of humour.

Landlord of The White Swan
