The Bible

Our Passion: committed to bring the Bible to life

Reading and studying the Bible together is integral to our life as Christian disciples and Scripture is read out publicly at every service.

Following the Sunday sermon, our home groups study the passage preached on in more depth, talking about what they have learned and applying it to their own lives, being accountable to God and each other. This further discussion encourages us to learn from one another and to grow together in community.

Reading and preaching from the Bible is a very important part of our life as a church.  God’s word has to feed into our everyday lives, giving us comfort, inspiration and encouragement.”
The Reverend Tim Sumpter, Vicar

We also encourage regular private reading of the Bible and to be open to hearing from God. Consequently we are grateful to United Christian Broadcasters who supply our congregation with adult and youth daily reading notes – The Word for Today www.ucb.co.uk.

Our churches use the New International Version of the Bible and occasionally we refer to other translations such as The Message or The Street Bible.

“I like the daily Bible readings from UCB as they are of great comfort and good teaching.”
